She walked a narrow line. There were many of them...but none of them could be. It was a delicate balance...the reward would be immense. Some of them pulled at her, trying to make her fall. Some of them pushed her away, and the effect was worse. Step by step. Day after day. It seemed unending. If she touched them, they went insane. What happens if one goes over the top? Will she be able to go on? There was nothing behind her...it faded away as she passed, and all that was left was the memory of fear. No one to steady her, to tell her where to place her feet. She was alone in a crowd. Too close...never again would she hold onto that person. Is there anyone for her to hold on to? Why must it be so difficult? One step closer, one step into uncertainty. Despair lurked behind ever corner, in ever crevice. Is there anyone that could seal the cracks, look around the corners? Could it be...
