I'm stoked about this film

GREYSCALE is a Neo-Noir Thriller in the tradition of Brick, Memento, Unknown, Lucky Number Slevin, and the 1950 classic D.O.A.

SYNOPSIS:

When his wife JULIA is killed in an explosion at a Mob warehouse, the world of artist OLIVER ALLEN literally turns gray.

Oliver, a painter who had hoped to trade a checkered past for a new life with Julia, suffers grief-induced Achromatopsia – the inability to see any color – a condition that plunges him into a world of black and white and shades of gray.

It’s the least of his problems.

The Mob is after him. GAVIN CALHOUN (Tim Russ), is intent on two things: avenging the death of the mobster-boss son, who also died at the warehouse; and finding out what Oliver knows about a dead undercover cop who penetrated the Family – a cop who happened to be Julia’s father (Anthony Tyler Quinn).

So Oliver abandons his witness-protection safe house in Denver, one step ahead of Calhoun’s murderous lieutenant, JAMISON (Doug Jones), and seeks refuge in the old hometown of his idyllic university days with Julia. Amidst a swirl of flashbacks, he enlists the help of BLAKE, his eccentric college roommate, and WINSTON, a techno-geek with an arsenal of tricked out toys that go bang. Into the mix comes RACHEL SOREN, a stunning and mysterious woman whose request for an art commission in return for answers to his shaded past sends him on a desperate quest to discover the reasons behind the spiral of violence.

Oliver descends into the netherworld, mining the streets and alleys and last-chance churches for any detail about a mob database and the decryption key that might unlock it. His search brings him face to face with the two DONNELLY BROTHERS, crime-family thugs sent to find him, and a lead pipe. Now Oliver’s world turns black.

But Oliver wakes up in a speeding car driven by his wife, the very-much ALIVE Julia.

His tempestuous reunion with Julia catapults Oliver into a web of betrayal – in which no one seems to be who they are, where loyalties are tested, and allegiances broken, giving him a last chance to make peace with the past and a new shot at a future.

Hey everyone, I know that no one ever reads this blog anymore, but if someone happens to stumble across this, please do me a favour.

Right now, there's a film competition on Youtube from the Sundance film festival called "Project: Direct". People from all across the world have entered, but it's now closed, and has been narrowed down to the top ten films. One of those films is called "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall", and not only has a powerful message about truth, it was written and directed by Brooke Martin, a Christian 18-year-old girl from Minnesota, and is her first EVER short film, and to have it go this far is an incredible accomplishment already.

Now, with our assistance, her film could go on to win the whole competition, be screened in front of tons of people, and be placed on the front page of Youtube(think, millions of viewers, every day). All I ask is that you take a few minutes to watch her short film, and if you think that it's amazing like I did, vote for it.

You can find the film here(click "watch in HD" just below the screen, it's gorgeous):

When you're done, go here to vote:

"Hello, how are you today"

"Good...looking forward to Christmas?"

"Well...I'll just be glad when it's over."

"Ah, is it just really busy for you, or..."

"Well..." long pause "I guess it's just not the same when you lose a family member."

"Ah."

A week ago, I was blank....I had no good ideas. Now:

I'm doing a music video for Play Oliver.
I'm doing a music video for Phos.
I'm sometime soon doing a music video for Kathleen Dunn.

And I had a flood of new ideas at work that tied in to some of my old ideas....so I've got a great plot in the works for a new movie....:D!

Figures that it all comes at the same time, eh?

This is it. This is the end of the beginning, and the start of the middle. This is what I've been waiting for my whole life. I'm focused, and I'm ready.

I need $30,000 by next year to be able to go to Compass Film Academy. On top of that, I need to make a strong film so that I'll be accepted. This is where I'm being called to go. This is the end of a lot of confusion for me. I just resigned from my job so that I can get a much better paying and steadier one. I wish I didn't have to, because I loved that job, but it's necessary.

But enough of that, I am PUMPED. There are little elves dancing in my head right now, and my blood is running 5x faster that normal.

I think I want to go here next year:

This is just a little taste of my new look that I will be revealing over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

Update: Problems with the new look were sorted out.

P.S. If anyone is looking for their lost duckling, one was spotted in a green car, accompanied by an unidentified older duck. Authorities are unwilling to speculate on the causes behind this, but anyone with further information is asked to contact the appropriate persons. Thank you.

It's like there a million little elves dashing about in my head, bumping into the slow ponderous trolls, who trample the fledgling hobbits who are just out for a jaunt in the woods.
